4 months!

4 months! 4 months!

Time is flying by, as usual....
Little e is now good to go to begin solids but I think we'll probably wait another month or so. It seems someone absolutely hates drinking anything other then milk directly from mama. We haven't been very good about giving her a bottle regularly and now she'll have nothing to do with it. We're going to keep trying, though, and hope the window hasn't closed on that one....

Otherwise she is as happy as can be and is growing fast! Yesterday she was 13 lbs 12oz, 25.75 inches, and her head was 16.5cm (if I remember correctly?) That puts her in 50% for weight, 85% for height and 95% for head circumference.

Yep...just about right for this family of giant heads. Big C has been off the charts huge since he was 2 months old. Looks like we'll be skipping right to the big girl sized hats for her, too :)

I put her in the same onesie as last month and although she doesn't look that much bigger, she is definitely much longer. Her feet hang over the end of her car seat and she likes to pick up her blanket with her toes.

As for the flower headband....we typically don't rock those because I think they look silly. But I picked this one up at Janie & Jack a few weeks ago - it seemed simple and pretty and I thought we'd give it shot. when I tried it on her she lit up and seemed to love it. So maybe cute little headbands are in our in our future....? In an extra-large size, of course :)

chubby cheeks friday

Does anyone else feel like this may have been the longest week ever?

With a new school schedule, Kyle being out of town for a few days (he's back - woohoo!), rainy weather and other various things it feels like this week has lasted forever.

But it's Friday!! The weekend is here!

And in honor of the weekend, I give you chubby cheek Friday....

....because what's better then totally kissable, chubby wubby, baby cheeks!

Happy Weekend!

first day, new school

I can't even believe Big C is starting his new school today....I mean where did the time go??! And he's only been gone for about an hour and I already miss him!

He had his last mom's morning out class last Thursday and started his new school today. He'll be there through Kindergarten and we are so excited to see him grown and learn in his new environment. The teachers and school are pretty amazing and I think he's going to love it!

In preparation we went for a beginning-of-the-new-school-year haircut. Someone was super excited to sit in the airplane this time. Apparently fire trucks are so last season....

And although I'd love to say Evie and I will be taking advantage of our free time while Big C is in school, in reality I will be sitting on the sofa icing my foot. My genius-self managed to jam my pinkie toe on the wooden leg of our sofa over the weekend. And for such a tiny toe, holy hell does it hurt! I'm now sporting a mean bruise on the top of my swollen foot and hobbling around. Lovely.

As you can see above, Evie has a new favorite bestie to hang out with, though :)

currently loving: this bedroom

So simple & calm while still being eclectic.

And I love, love, LOVE that bed!

new {good!} lighting at lowes

So I was in Lowes today and happened upon their new lighting options. I have to say - for the price some of these options are pretty darn good! They look like much more expensive options I've drooled over....but are at a much easier to stomach price point.

Love the bronze pendant light above. For $118 each It would look great over a kitchen island

Also love this polished nickle pendant below - for $48!

And this edison light pendant  - great for a mud room, over a desk, kitchen sink...etc, etc

Go check them out!

our weekend + a ROLL!

We FINALLY made it to the beach on Saturday.

With two little ones the pool has been a much easier option this summer, but I was itching for a little beach time so we finally loaded up the 55lbs of gear and headed out to Sullivan's on Saturday.

C swam around with Kyle while I hung on the beach with Little E, who stretched and did leg lifts for most of the time.

On Sunday we went to a carnival for C's new school - which he starts in two weeks! I can't believe how fast the summer has flown by!

I also picked up a few new fabric to hoard use for some exciting new projects :)

And lastly....those leg lifts must have done something to help strengthen her core because while typing this post she just rolled over for the first time!!
Go Evie!

sunday morning

Sunday snuggles....

just before the Starbucks team {aka Kyle and big C} went out on their weekly weekend coffee and bagel run

Happy weekend!
